  1. What is Free CI Cover?

This Free CI Cover is given to you at no extra cost to complement your purchase of/participation in the selected Total Wealth Solution (TWS) and Total Health Solution (THS) products from AIA during the campaign period from 1 January 2024 to 29 February 2024.  (campaign extended till 31 March 2024)

The free cover is valid from the policy/certificate’s issue date until 31 December 2024.

  1. Who is eligible to be covered under Free CI Cover?

The insured/person covered under the TWS/THS product (“Covered Person”) is eligible for Free CI Cover.  

  1. What is covered under Free CI Cover?

It provides coverage for diagnosis of Cancer, Stroke or Heart Attack of the Covered Person. The coverage amount of Free CI Cover will depend on the total annualised premium/contribution of the TWS/THS product on the date of the Covered Person’s diagnosis, as shown in the table below:

Example

  • 1 Jan 2024: Alex purchased A-LifeLink 2 with a total annualised premium of RM2,400.  

  • 1 Dec 2024: Alex increased his sum assured for A-LifeLink 2 and his revised total annualised premium is RM5,000.

  • 22 Dec 2024: Alex was diagnosed with a Heart Attack. The coverage amount payable for Free CI Cover is RM50,000, based on the total annualised premium of RM5,000.

  1. I purchased/participated in a TWS/THS product which covers my child. I am the policy/certificate owner. Who is eligible to be covered under Free CI Cover?

Free CI Cover provides coverage to the insured/person covered under the TWS/THS product. In this scenario, the child is eligible for Free CI Cover.

  1. Are there any exclusions to Free CI Cover?

The following are not covered:

(a) any illness other than a diagnosis of Cancer, Heart Attack or Stroke;

(b) the signs or symptoms is manifested prior to or: 

  • within sixty (60) days for Cancer and Heart Attack; or 

  • within thirty (30) days for Stroke; 

      from the commencement date of the Free CI Cover.

(c) the Cancer, Heart Attack or Stroke arises directly or indirectly from a Pre-Existing Condition, which existed prior to the commencement date of the Free CI Cover;

(d) the diagnosis of Cancer of the Covered Person, where in Our opinion, was directly or indirectly due to an Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) or infection by any Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). We reserve the right to require the Covered Person to undergo a blood test for HIV as a condition precedent to any acceptance of any claim. For the purpose of this Free CI Cover: 

  • the definition of AIDS shall be that used by the World Health Organization in 1987, or any subsequent revision by the World Health Organization of that definition; and 

  • infection shall be deemed to have occurred where blood or other relevant test(s) indicate in Our opinion either the presence of any HIV or Antibodies to such a Virus; 

(e) any Cancer, Heart Attack or Stroke which was diagnosed due, directly or indirectly, to a congenital defect or disease, which was manifested or was diagnosed before the Covered Person attains seventeen (17) years of age; 

(f)       any Cancer, Heart Attack or Stroke which was caused by a self-inflicted injury; 

(g)      any Cancer, Heart Attack or Stroke resulting directly from alcohol or drug abuse; or 

(h)     the Covered Person did not survive for at least fifteen (15) days after the diagnosis of a Cancer, Heart Attack or Stroke.

  1. Is there any waiting period for Free CI Cover?

 The waiting period will commence from the policy/certificate’s issue date.

  1. Is there any survival period for Free CI Cover?

Yes, the Covered Person must survive for at least 15 days after the diagnosis of a Cancer, Heart Attack or Stroke.

  1. I purchased/participated in multiple TWS/THS products during the campaign period. Am I eligible for multiple Free CI Covers?

Yes, for each TWS/THS product which meets the minimum total annualised premium/contribution, you are eligible for one Free  CI Cover.

Example

  • 1 Jan 2024: Alex purchased A-Life Wealth Builder with a total annualised premium of RM8,000.  

  • 1 Feb 2024: Alex participated in A-Life Sejuta Makna with a total annualised contribution of RM15,000.

He is eligible for two Free CI Covers with coverage amounts of RM50,000 and RM150,000 respectively (total RM200,000). Note:Any changes to the total annualised premium/contribution may also change the coverage amounts of Free CI Cover. 

  1. Can I make multiple claims under Free CI Cover?

No, the coverage amount of Free CI Cover is payable once (in one lump sum) upon the Covered Person’s diagnosis of Cancer, Stroke or Heart Attack.

  1. Am I still covered under Free CI Cover if my TWS/THS product had lapsed?

No, coverage is not provided under Free CI Cover if the TWS/THS product purchased/participated is no longer in force.  

However, the coverage resumes if the TWS/THS product is reinstated within the coverage period of the Free CI Cover and the AIA Vitality membership remains active until the end of coverage period. 

Example

  • 1 Jan 2024: Alex purchased A-Life Wealth Builder with a total annualised premium of RM8,000.  

  • 1 Jul 2024: Alex did not pay premium, and his A-Life Wealth Builder policy lapsed. He is not covered under Free CI Cover.

  • 1 Sept 2024: Alex reinstated his A-Life Wealth Builder policy. His coverage under Free CI Cover resumed.

  • 1 Dec 2024: Alex was diagnosed with a Heart Attack. The coverage amount of RM50,000 is payable for Free CI Cover.

  1. How do I make a claim under the Free CI Cover?

a. Please refer to the Table of Documents below for the list of documents required when submitting a claim.

b. Claims can be submitted via email:

  1. Why is the claim application rejected?

The claimant may have entered the incorrect information during the claims application. Please resubmit the claim application with the correct information and contact your respective Life Planner or email MY.Customer@aia.comfor assistance.

  1. What is Free Life Cover?

This Free Life Cover is given to you at no extra cost to complement your purchase of/participation in the selected Total Health Solution (THS) products from AIA during the campaign period from 1 January 2024 to 29 February 2024.  

The free cover is valid from the policy/certificate’s issue date until 31 December 2024.

  1. Who is eligible to be covered under Free Life Cover?

The insured/person covered under the THS product (“Covered Person”) is eligible for Free Life Cover. 

  1. What is covered under Free Life Cover?

It provides coverage for the Covered Person’s death. The coverage amount of Free Life Cover will depend on the total annualised premium/contribution of the THS product on the date of the Covered Person’s death, as shown in the table below:

  • 1 Jan 2024: Alex purchased A-Life Essential Critical Care with a total annualised premium of RM2,398.  

  • 1 Dec 2024: Alex increased his sum assured for A-Life Essential Critical Care and his revised total annualised premium is RM5,995.

  • 22 Dec 2024: Alex unfortunately passed away. The coverage amount payable for Free Life Cover is RM50,000, based on the total annualised premium of RM5,995. 

  1. I purchased/participated in a THS product which covers my child. I am the policy/certificate owner. Who is eligible to be covered under Free Life Cover?

Free Life Cover provides coverage to the insured/person covered under the THS product. In this scenario, the child is eligible for Free Life Cover.

  1. Are there any exclusions to Free Life Cover?

Death due to suicide is not covered under Free Life Cover.

  1. Is there any waiting period for Free Life Cover?

No, there is no waiting period for Free Life Cover. The coverage will start from the policy/certificate’s issue date.

  1. I purchased/participated in multiple THS products during the campaign period. Am I eligible for multiple Free Life Covers?

Yes, for each THS product which meets the minimum total annualised premium/contribution, you are eligible for one Free Life Cover.

Example

  • 1 Jan 2024: Alex purchased A-Life Essential Critical Care with a total annualised premium of RM2,398.  

  • 1 Feb 2024: Alex purchased A-Life Beyond Critical Care with a total annualised premium of RM7,718.

He is eligible for two Free Life Covers with coverage amounts of RM20,000 and RM50,000 respectively (total RM70,000). Note:Any changes to the total annualised premium/contribution may also change the coverage amounts of Free Life Cover. 

  1. Am I still covered under Free Life Cover if my THS product had lapsed?

No, coverage is not provided under Free Life Cover if the THS product purchased/participated is no longer in force. 

However, the coverage resumes if the THS product is reinstated within the coverage period of the Free Life Cover and the AIA Vitality membership remains active until the end of coverage period.
