Background

Joy joins TNG Digital as Chief Corporate Development Officer, effective 1 January 2026. She is a seasoned corporate leader with over 20 years of experience within CIMB Group, spanning corporate development, investments, digital growth, governance, and value creation across regional markets.

Joy was Managing Director and Head of Investments at CIMB Digital Asset, where she was responsible in leading corporate development, investments and long-term value creation activities for CIMB’s digital ventures, including its digital banks in the Philippines and Vietnam. Her work focuses on building scalable digital businesses and unlocking long-term value through strategic capital deployment and partnerships. During her tenure in CIMB, Joy was part of the founding team that led the conceptualisation and negotiation of the e-wallet joint venture between Touch ‘n Go Sdn Bhd and Ant Financial Group and remains an active participator throughout the formation years and different stages of growth of TNG Digital.

Since 2020, Joy also double-hatted and served as Chief Corporate Development Officer at Touch ‘n Go Sdn Bhd, where she is also a member of the executive management team, and audit, risks & compliance management committee. In this role, she has driven corporate strategy, platform ecosystem development, fundraising, and mergers and acquisitions to build new digital business models and revenue streams. She led a comprehensive business review that delivered significant improvements across strategy, processes, and people, and also oversees the Sustainability and Legal functions, championing sustainable initiatives while providing strategic legal oversight.

Earlier in her career, Joy was Head of Investment Management at CIMB Group Ventures and Partnerships, where she managed the Group’s proprietary investments and led the recalibration and optimisation of more than 25 corporate exercises, including acquisitions, divestments, and fund restructurings. These initiatives generated over RM2 billion in capital gains and optimisation outcomes within a five-year period. She had served on multiple boards and investment committees of CIMB Group investee companies. Her deep expertise in corporate strategy, governance, sustainability, risk management, and digital investments positions her to play a key role in shaping TNG Digital’s long-term growth and strategic direction.

She holds an Honours degree in Finance, Accounting and Management from the University of Nottingham, and has completed executive programmes at INSEAD and IMD Business School.
