The Government, via the Ministry of Works today announced that the Touch ‘n Go RFID service will be made available on the North South Highway operated by PLUS Malaysia Berhad beginning 15 January 2022.

This is wonderful news and will make Touch ‘n Go’s RFID service available at all highways across Malaysia; and more importantly this is in line with the Government’s Intelligent Transport Systems Blueprint and is a major step towards the implementation of Multi Lane Free Flow (MLFF) across all toll roads in Malaysia.

All Touch ‘n Go card and SmartTAG services remain available as the transition to Touch ‘n Go RFID service will happen over a period of time.
Amongst other innovations, the Touch ‘n Go RFID tag will be linked to the Touch ‘n Go eWallet, making the need for top-up’s a thing of the past.

This is such an interesting time for Touch ‘n Go, and we’re extremely pleased to have been able to innovate and participate in the next generation of highway payments in Malaysia.

Watch this space for more information as we move towards nationwide RFID usage and MLFF.

Touch ‘n Go RFID tags can be purchased via the Touch ‘n Go eWallet, Lazada, Shopee and other retail partners. Click here full listing.
