Intern

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Role Purpose
  • You’ll work directly with the Ops Strategy Lead on real, high-impact problems at the intersection of strategy, operations, policy, and execution.
  • This is not a “research intern” role. You’ll be dropped into live programmes, imperfect systems, and cross-functional chaos — and asked to help make sense of it.
  • The Operations Strategy Analyst (Intern/Junior) supports the Operations Strategy function in structured execution across the ops division.
  • You will assist in ensuring that every operational activity is measurable, accountable, and continuously improving through well-documented frameworks, playbooks, and reporting rhythms.
  • What you’ll get to do
  • Help break down complex, unstructured problems into clear problem statements and options
  • Support end-to-end programme design and execution — from policy intent ? operating model ? SOPs ? metrics
  • Build simple but sharp materials: decision notes, one-pagers, frameworks, trackers (not 80-page decks)
  • Learn how large-scale systems actually operate — beyond what case interviews teach
  • You’ll see how decisions ripple across tech, ops, finance, external stakeholders, merchant, and end users.
  • Key Responsibilities
  • 1. Governance & Framework Support
  • Assist in updating and maintaining the operational manuals and SOPs.
  • Support the Ops Strategy Lead in coordinating inputs across Operations team.
  • 2. Meeting & Cadence Coordination
  • Prepare materials, agendas, and minutes for Weekly Ops Meetings, Project Steering Meetings, and External Reviews (QBR/MBR).
  • Track follow-up actions and maintain an Ops Tracker to monitor closure status.
  • Support the Ops Strategy Lead in logistics management (scheduling, slide decks, pre-read summaries).
  • 3. Playbook & Documentation Management
  • Assist in drafting and formatting Operational Playbooks for key functions — such as Change Requests (CR), or product readiness.
  • Maintain version control and ensure all playbooks are easily accessible through shared drives or knowledge repositories.
  • Help document process flows and visual guides for new or evolving programs.
  • 4. Learning & Retrospective Support
  • Support any retrospective process by consolidating lessons learned, compiling feedback, and summarizing improvement areas.
  • Help transform findings into structured documentation or slide decks for internal sharing.
  • Track follow-up actions and verify if improvements have been embedded into the next cycle.

Requirements

  • This role is a good fit if you are:
  • Curious about how strategy survives contact with reality
  • Comfortable asking “why” five times — even to senior leaders
  • Interested in learning velocity
  • Able to think in both structure and common sense
  • Not afraid of Excel & PowerPoint, messy data, or half-baked processes
  • Calm under ambiguity, and oddly energised by it
  • Bonus (not required):
  • Interest in and exposure to consulting case prep, ops, fintech, tech, public policy, or platform businesses
  • Strong writing (even with GPT assisted) — clear thinking shows up on the page and able to defend it when asked
