BackDuties & Responsibilities
- Support and maintain the organization’s infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, and other hardware systems.
- Assist in implementing strategies to maintain and enhance infrastructure in line with business needs.
- Collaborate with other departments to understand infrastructure and networking requirements, ensuring timely support and delivery.
- Provide hands-on support in setting up, configuring, and maintaining network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points).
- Deploy and manage Network Access Control (NAC) solutions such as Aruba ClearPass or similar platforms.
- Assist in evaluating and recommending new hardware, software, and networking solutions.
- Monitor and troubleshoot network-related issues, identifying root causes and providing timely solutions to minimize downtime.
- Maintain and update network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS/NDR systems.
- Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and assist in implementing improvements.
- Keep accurate documentation of network configurations, policies, and procedures.
- Work with senior team members and external vendors for equipment procurement and advanced troubleshooting.
- Support cloud network configurations and troubleshooting (AWS, Azure, or GCP) where applicable.
- Maintain thorough documentation of network configurations, policies, and procedures for future reference and compliance needs.
- Liaise with and coordinate external vendors for support and equipment procurement related to networking infrastructure.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure and networking.
- Strong understanding of network and infrastructure security fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience with network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, etc.) and equipment from vendors such as Cisco, FortiGate, H3C, and Zscaler.
- Experience in NAC setup and administration (e.g., Aruba ClearPass or equivalent) is required.
- Added advantage: prior experience in cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios) and wireless network troubleshooting.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA Network+) are a plus.
