Datuk Syed Zaid Albar was appointed as Chairman and Non-Independent Non-Executive Director of TNG Digital on 17 October 2025.

He is currently the Chairman of CIMB Group Holdings Berhad, CIMB Bank Berhad and Touch 'n Go Sdn. Bhd.

Datuk Syed Zaid is a senior lawyer with experience across a broad range of practice areas, with a strong focus on financial services and corporate advisory. As a co-founding partner of Albar & Partners, he has established himself in Malaysia's legal landscape, particularly in debt capital market and equity finance, including Islamic finance. His significant contributions have earned him multiple recognitions for his involvement in notable capital market transactions.

In 2018, he left legal practice to take up the position of Executive Chairman of the Securities Commission Malaysia ("SC"), a role he held until mid-2022. During his tenure, he was instrumental in enhancing regulatory governance and advancing the growth of Malaysia's capital markets, both locally and abroad. He represented the SC in multiple forums, including as a member of Bank Negara Malaysia's Financial Stability Committee and the Board of Trustees of the Financial Reporting Foundation. He served on the board of the International Organisation of Securities Commissions ("IOSCO"), the Asia Pacific Regional Committee of IOSCO, and the ASEAN Capital Markets Forum, working to foster capital market integration across ASEAN.

Datuk Syed Zaid previously served on the boards of numerous public listed companies, including Malaysian Pacific Industries Berhad, Yinson Holdings Berhad, Cycle & Carriage Bintang Berhad and Malaysia Building Society Berhad. He rejoined Albar & Partners in early 2023 as a senior partner, taking on an advisory role and professional development.
