The Touch ‘n Go & United Voice collaboration

Through these specially designed cards, the collaboration seeks to raise the awareness of United Voice’s mission and profile the talents of their artists.

Each United Voice member lives with their own specific learning disability, such as Down Syndrome, autism, and ADHD. Nevertheless, with the support of those around them, some of these members have learned to express themselves through art, earning awards and selling their paintings across the globe.

This collaboration is part of Touch ‘n Go’s sustainability commitments to the Empowerment and Inclusion of the Differently Abled. To do this, Touch ‘n Go is proud to collaborate with United Voice, Malaysia’s first society led by persons with learning disabilities, with the hopes of giving them a chance to earn a meaningful livelihood and live independently.

United Voice Gallery

Hornbill – Damien Wong

Hornbill was inspired by an event that Damien attended at the Hornbill Restaurant & Café in the KL Bird Park. Enjoying his experience so much, he drew this painting immediately after his second visit to the restaurant.

Happy Koi Fishes 1 – Andrew Lau Ka-Keat

Andrew likes fishes, especially koi fish. Close to home, there is a koi fish pond which he frequents almost daily. Happy Koi Fishes 1 is inspired by his visits to the pond.

Hometown Village – Syed Rakin Hazman

Rakin drew inspiration from his visits to his parents’ hometowns in Muar, Johor and Pedas, Negeri Sembilan. Every time his family balik kampung, he is inspired by the colourful houses and different trees he encounters.

Red Penyu – Ashley Wong Zy Wei

Ashley started painting turtles after a family holiday to Turtle Alley, Terengganu. She was fascinated by the many different drawings and murals of turtles in the alley, including the use of pebbles on the ground and walls to represent turtles.

Peacock – Pua Zhe Xuan

Inspired by the beauty of a graceful peacock, Zhe Xuan was amazed by the colourful feathers and traits of a peacock. In this painting Zhe Xuan paints a pair of peacocks, representing joy in an everlasting relationship through carefully crafted details and blended colours, emulating how graceful a peacock would look.

Garden Bouquet – Nurulakhmal Ab Rahman

Nurulakhmal was attracted to the bright and cheery yellow petals of the sunflower blooms that formed a beautiful bouquet arrangement in her garden. The natural composition of the brilliant yellow against the blue sky is what inspired her to paint this painting.

Tranquility – Andrew Chew Wy-Leong

Preferring his own company, Andrew loves spending time in nature, taking long walks by himself. His love for gardening and plants often inspires him to paint lush and vibrant paintings of fields of flowers like Tranquility.

Solitary Boat By Beach – Anthony Lee Weng Choong

Anthony feels most at peace when watching billowing waves, feeling the warmth of the sun, and the sea breeze on his cheeks at the beach. The sturdy boat in the painting is symbolic of his own desires to reach new shores.

Exotic Fruits – Tan Seng Kit

Seng Kit’s love for Malaysian tropical fruits inspired him to draw Exotic Fruits. This painting showcases his style of expressing himself in abstract terms instead of drawing the whole fruit. As he loves using vibrant colours, the variety of Malaysian tropical fruits was the perfect inspiration for this painting.

Lotus In A Pot – Clement Ooi Kit Meng

Clement noticed a beautiful pot of lotus flowers in bloom at a friend’s home. He was so strongly inspired that he began to draw it there and then.
