Senior Executive, Legal

Job Description
  • Supporting the Senior Manager in providing legal advice and support on a wide range of legal work on the Company’s business.
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating simple and complex contracts including but not limited to those related to existing and new corporate or commercial projects, products and services of the Company’s business.
  • Project management, oversee  and advice the legal aspect of special projects where appropriate, e.g. M&A, capital injection, shareholder agreements, special projects where legal counsel has overall view.
  • Advising on general business law issues and managing the legal issues of all areas of the company, including but not limited to corporate matters, sales, data, and operational issues.
  • Cooperate and work with the other divisions of the Company including Corporate, Commercial, Operations, Technology as well as supporting areas in Finance, Risk, Compliance and Audit in resolving issues or matters affecting the Company’s business.
  • To anticipate and manage the (legal) risks connected with or resulting from the business strategy and operations.
  • To ensure compliance of business operations and projects with relevant laws and regulations.
  • To pro-actively engage internal stakeholders on creating awareness of business employees for relevant laws and regulations.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality work under deadlines.
Job Requirements
  • Qualified lawyer with 4 to 9 years post qualification experience both as an inhouse and practicing lawyer
  • Law degree from a reputable university
  • Knowledge of Malaysia commercial law, regulatory framework, contract law, competition law and corporate law. Experience in mergers and acquisitions, corporate transactions or TMT industries will be an advantage.
  • Technologically adept and possess excellent computers skills such as Ms Office, Ms Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken)
