TNG Digital Head of Financial Services
Desmond Teoh joined TNG Digital from CIMB Bank in July 2019 as Director of Financial Services managing the wealth and lending portfolio. He was promoted to Head of Financial Services effective 1st June 2022. He has 20 years of experience managing various portfolios in the Consumer Banking industry.
During his time with CIMB, Desmond was the Regional Head for Preferred Banking and Segments. He managed affluent customer and user segments including micro-SMEs across Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia. He led many new initiatives including launching the bespoke Regional Preferred Proposition for CIMB @Work segment, which created the new payroll business of CIMB across the region. He also co-managed a network of 400 Preferred Relationship Managers across CIMB branch network in Malaysia.
Prior to joining CIMB, Desmond began his career with Citibank where he spent 13 years managing various portfolios ranging from customer service, project management, operations and compliance, MIS, sales, and product management. Some notable achievements during his stint were making Citibank the centre of excellence for customer service, launching the popular Citibank Clear Card, and migrating the call centre’s backend and PABX system.
Desmond holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and Business Studies from Charles Stuart University in Australia and is an alumni of Insead Business School leadership program.
