Foo Yeong Jin joined TNG Digital in May 2018 as Associate Director, Risk and Data Strategy and was later appointed as the Head, Data and Business Intelligence in April 2020. He brings with him vast experience in data analytics and credit risk, accumulated over a decade in several major banking groups. In TNG Digital, he is responsible for the organisation’s core data-driven strategy, and oversees a range of data related functions, which include data engineering, business intelligence, data science and advanced analytics. He was appointed Chief Risk Officer on
1 April 2023.

Prior to joining TNG Digital, he was Vice President, Group Risk Management in AmBank where he is responsible for data analytics and providing insights focusing on the IFRS9 provisioning model. Before AmBank, he was Vice President, Group Retail Credit Risk in CIMB for both Malaysia and Singapore. He was responsible for managing credit risk exposure of unsecured products through the implementation of data driven strategies using various data analytics models, including acquisition models, segmentation, customer models and credit scorecards. In addition, he was also responsible for the development of credit risk data and business intelligence tools.

Prior to joining CIMB, Yeong Jin was Lead, Reporting and Analytics in Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia. He was responsible for the regional initiatives driven by Standard Chartered Group, and data analytics for risk and business optimisation. He took part in various regional initiatives, i.e., regional credit scorecard for small and medium enterprise and regional data optimisation projects.

Yeong Jin spent his early years in his career as a data engineer in Scope International, a global shared service centre of Standard Chartered Global Business Services. He was responsible to provide consulting in the area of Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence, and the development of several key banking projects i.e., Basel II data pipeline.

Yeong Jin graduated with Honours in Information Systems Engineering from Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) and he also holds a Master’s Degree in Data Science and Business Analytics with Distinction from Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation (APU / APIIT).
