PUBLIC AT KLIA AND LCCT-KLIA ENJOYING GREATER PARKING EXPERIENCE WITH INTRODUCTION OF TOUCH 'N GO

Kuala Lumpur, Tuesday:- Airport users of KL International Airport (KLIA) and Low Cost Carrier Terminal KLIA (LCCT-KLIA) can now enjoy swift access and exit at both parking areas as the Touch 'n Go facility is now made available.

The facility was made available since February this year and the acceptance rate at KLIA and LCCT has been very encouraging. These two locations are Touch 'n Go's 23RD & 24TH parking sites.

Parking has been identified as one of the major key growth area for Touch 'n Go Sdn Bhd (TNGSB). At the moment, some 30 parking sites in the Klang Valley are already equipped with the Touch 'n Go facility, and these parking sites include major shopping malls as well as hospitals.

"We can see that the demand from our customers to have Touch 'n Go as a payment mode for parking is high, thus we are making sure that we will further expand our availability for this area in particular," said TNGSB's Chairman YBhg Datuk Yahya Yaacob.

Apart from KLIA and LCCT, for this year alone, TNGSB has expanded its services to the Maju Junction Mall, Assunta Hospital and Mines Shopping Fair. The target for this year is 16 new sites in the Klang Valley.

"The acceptance rate here in the Klang Valley to use Touch 'n Go for parking is increasing and we welcome this trend. We are also pleased to announce that we will expand this facility to Johor Bahru and Penang by next year, and slowly nationwide." Datuk Yahya added.

An event to launch the facility was held at the Main Terminal Building at KLIA today, attended by Malaysia Airports' Managing Director YBhg Dato' Seri Bashir Ahmad.

"We welcome Touch 'n Go at KLIA and LCCT as the facility will provide greater convenience to our customers, and we are pleased to also announce that the response has been good, which is currently at 10 per cent of the total parking customer base here. We are confident the numbers will pick up fast, as we all now know that the Touch 'n Go card is now a necessity when you travel," said Dato' Seri Bashir Ahmad.

Dato' Seri Bashir added: "The partnership with Touch 'n Go is part of our continuous improvements for the airport users, which we believe will considerably enhance airport users' experience when using KLIA. We look forward to further enhancing the facilities and services for public from time to time."

During the event, Malaysia Airports also unveiled KLIA's 10th Anniversary Special Edition Touch 'n Go cards. The cards will be sold at KLIA in due course.
